Description:

Introduced as a rope-dancer in Ricketts’s Circus on May 1 1793. In 1794 he quit Ricketts’s Circus and relocated to Charleston where he performed both rope-dancing and pantomimes. Returning to Ricketts in 1795, Spinacuta exhibited both his acrobatic and his theatrical talents. It seems Spinacuta’s interest veered towards acting; by 1796 he directed most of the pantomimes in Ricketts’s Circus. He left the company in 1797.
